And it also promotes the idea that these neurological differences are natural variations and should be respected, accommodated, and valued in society, challenging the medical model that pathologizes such differences.

What is the difference between innate and acquired neurodivergence?

The difference between these is that from a neurological perspective, innate neurodivergence is the neurotype with which you are born while acquired neurodivergent traits may be a result of your life experiences and therefore may change over time. For example, an anxious or depressed person may stop being anxious or depressed but an autistic individual will never stop being autistic! We have included both types in our app to be as inclusive as possible (& also because there is a high rate of co-occurrence among the two types.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can easily cancel through the app by navigating to your account page and choosing cancel; the account will be terminated immediately.

What do I do if there is nobody near me?

New members are joining Neurospicy everyday, so check back often! In the meantime, you can connect and form friendships virtually with anyone on the app by not choosing "distance" in the preferences (this makes your options virtually anywhere). Also, please encourage your friends to join so we can foster a larger neurodivergent community!

How do I upgrade?

You can easily upgrade through the app by navigating to your account page and choosing upgrade; the account will be given access to upgraded features immediately.

How old do I have to be to join?

Neurospicy requires users to be 18 or older due to legal and ethical reasons. This age restriction helps ensure that users are of the age of consent, protects minors from inappropriate content and potential risks, complies with legal regulations, promotes responsible use, and facilitates informed and safe interactions. These requirements are designed to protect both users and the platform.
